I’m transcribing this about my vision for the Lyyf Online website. I originally started thinking about this website and this format about two years ago, so 2021-2022. Originally, I had planned to use this format of curated and aggregated content for an ESL, English Learning website.
During that two years, I did a lot of testing and working on the site and changing and kind of reformatting and thinking about the design as well. I also got sidetracked with some other projects. So, it’s been a long process, but the goal has always been to have a curated, aggregating, self-aggregating kind of website that would take very little maintenance and
upkeep on the daily kind of basis.
Most of the content aggregates and updates automatically. And also, one of the other main visions or ideas is that all the content be free. So, there is no paywall, there is no subscription.
Everything on the site will be free for all users. It’s more kind of like not really social media, but more like a community where people can go and hopefully find useful content that was created by others.
I have no interest in being a content creator. I have no interest in being famous but I am an IT, a tech person. And so, I am interested in maximizing technology and making things as easy and simple as possible.
That is the goal and the vision for my website and my platform. One, it will be aggregated and curated and take as little maintenance as possible. And two, it will be free.
I will never charge users or charge people for the content that is being posted and distributed through my site. Having said that, yeah, it’s expensive. There are costs. I would very, very much appreciate donations. But again, my site will always be free for anyone who wants to use it and who enjoys it. And hopefully, I can have some success and maybe along the way, make it a bit profitable with advertisements or deals with partners or affiliates who would like to advertise on the site.
But again, the main goal is that it’s low maintenance and it’s free for everyone. And it is an ongoing process of designing, building, testing, and then redesigning, building, and testing. So, over time, it will always change and adapt and the content will always change and adapt.
Also one of the main, I think, ideas is I want people who use it to vote on what they like or what they dislike. And so, the content will change kind of based on the voting of the people who use the site. My goal isn’t to just push out content that only I like or that only I agree with or that only I think is important.
I want to have feedback from the users, from the people who visit, from the guests, I guess is a better word. Then my content, the content on the site may change and that feedback will drive how the site changes and evolves over time. And so, that’s kind of the vision and I hope anyone who comes and sees it finds it useful.
If you don’t find it useful now, come back in a couple weeks or a couple months and then hopefully it will change and improve. But it’s always an ongoing process and at the moment, it’s still very, very young and in the developing stage. So, what you see now is in no way, shape or form the final product.
So, I hope to see the guests, the users often and come back and I hope you find the website useful and enjoyable. So, thank you very much.
